Spring Forward Fashion Trends Inspire Classical Coifs
by Marci Landgraf
This spring season brings back pretty pastels, lace and ruffles with silhouettes that reflect glamour and romance.
For hair we take cues from the fabulous frocks we see on the runway, shapes are soft and classical. Texture this season takes a turn from sleek polished hair to soft summertime - cruising with the top down, effortless hair. On the runway we see: long hair, ponytails and buns that look like they took a ride down the coast in an old convertible Bel air.

Start wet- towel dry hair and apply Moroccan Oil Hydrating Cream, blow dry and over direct roots for lots of volume. Use a flat brush to smooth mid-shaft and ends. With a large barrel curling iron - take random big sections and feed hair in to the mid shaft and loosen up as you feed through the ends. Use the iron horizontally not vertically. When the whole head has been curled use more Moroccan Oil Cream, work cream in to your hands evenly then apply through hair starting on the end working your way up. Blow the hair high heat / low air – dryer pointed down to loosen up curls a little more.
Second day hair is best for this look. With a side part that suits your face band your hair low under your occipital bone. Set the ponytail, taking big sections - spray evenly with Sebastian’s Re-Shaper and rap hair around hot roller. The Longer you let hair set in hot rollers the longer bend and curl will last. Brush through ponytail and back comb with fingers by raking fingers up until you get a soft texture. Finish by using your hands to shape the ponytail into an upside tear drop shape - finish with Re-Shaper.
This works best on long fine blond hair. Thick heavier hair tends to look messy not whimsy like angel hair. Start by pulling your hair back in a bun above high on your head but not on top. Section off ½ inch section around the front of your hairline and crimp randomly leaving some pieces strait. Back comb with brush (not comb) for a soft fuzzy texture. Pull back (not to tight) and rap around bun. Loosen up with your fingers and finish off by spraying my new favorite Moroccan Oil Hair Spray.
